How quickly can we hire someone in Finland?

Once you're ready, we can usually have someone employed in Finland within a few days. Share the role, salary and start date, and we prepare a Finnish employment contract and get the employee onto payroll.

EU/EEA and Swiss citizens can start without a work permit. Everyone else needs a residence permit for work before they start, which takes longer, and we help you plan for it.

Our Employer of Record fee in Finland is €390 per employee/month. On top of that you pay the employee's salary and statutory employer contributions of around 19% of salary, mostly earnings-related pension (TyEL), plus health and unemployment insurance. Mandatory benefits are passed on at cost with no markup.

In Finland, many companies also offer extended occupational health care, a lunch benefit and a sport and culture benefit. Let us know if you'd like to include these or other benefits, and we'll make it happen.

If your employee is paid in EUR and you want to be invoiced in another currency, a 1.5% conversion fee applies. You see the full cost before you sign.

Until then, you can grow your team in Finland through our Employer of Record for as long as you need. Many companies use it as their long-term setup, with a dedicated contact for you and for every employee.

Employees in Finland earn 2.5 days of holiday for each month worked, which adds up to 30 days a year after the first full year: 24 days in summer and 6 in winter.

A probation period can last up to 6 months, and either side can end it without notice, though never on discriminatory grounds. After that, the employer's notice period is 14 days for up to 1 year of service, rising to 6 months after 12 years. Employees give 14 days, or 1 month after 5 years. We set all of this up correctly in the contract.

Every person we employ for you in Finland gets their own contact person at Fronted, who helps with everything from the first contract to payslips, holiday and sick leave.

You get a dedicated contact too. So you always have someone who knows you and your team to reach out to, not a ticket queue.

No. With our Employer of Record service, Fronted employs the person through our own Finnish company, and you direct their work day to day.

We handle the employment contract, payroll, tax, TyEL pension, insurance and reporting under Finnish rules and the collective agreement that applies to the role, so you can build a team in Finland without registering a company there.
