Do we need our own company in Norway to hire there?

No. With our Employer of Record service, Fronted employs the person through our own Norwegian company, and you direct their work day to day.

We handle the employment contract, payroll, tax, pension, holiday pay and reporting under Norwegian rules, so you can build a team in Norway without registering a company there.

Once you're ready, we can usually have someone employed in Norway within a few days. Share the role, salary and start date, and we prepare a Norwegian employment contract and get the employee onto payroll.

Nordic, EU/EEA and Swiss citizens can start without a work permit. Everyone else needs a residence permit before they start, which takes longer, and we help you plan for it.

Employees in Norway are entitled to 25 working days of holiday a year (four weeks and one day), and five weeks is common under collective agreements. Holiday pay is 10.2% of the previous year's earnings, or 12% where five weeks are agreed.

A probation period of up to 6 months can be agreed in writing, with 14 days' notice during that time. After that, the notice period is 1 month by default, 2 months after 5 years' service and 3 months after 10 years. We set all of this up correctly in the contract.

Every person we employ for you in Norway gets their own contact person at Fronted, who helps with everything from the first contract to payslips, holiday and sick leave.

You get a dedicated contact too. So you always have someone who knows you and your team to reach out to, not a ticket queue.

Many companies stay on Employer of Record in Norway for the long term. If you outgrow it, we tell you, and we set up your own Norwegian company and run it for you, including accounting and payroll.

Your employees then sign new contracts with your company. We prepare the contracts and the paperwork and make the move as simple as possible.
